Joaquin and Enid Gomez (C) sign-in at a caucus precinct 19 January 2008 in East Las Vegas, Nevada. The Gomez' live in this predominantly Hispanic community and said they were excited to caucus for the first time. Each of the three leading Democratic candidates -- New York Senator Hillary Clinton, Illinois Senator Barack Obama, and former North Carliona Senator John Edwards -- are competing for the Hispanic vote in Nevada and nationwide. Hispanics represent the nation's fastest-growing minority, and almost 60 percent identify themselves as Democrats. In Nevada, Latinos make up about 20 percent of the population. Hispanics make up 12 percent of Nevada's eligible voters, compared with 9 percent of eligible voters nationally. AFP PHOTO/Ryan Anson
