LEBANON-UNREST-DEMO
Lebanese soldiers put out the fire from burning tyres to protest the killing of Captain Wissam Eid in his native village of Deir Ammar in northern Lebanon, 25 January 2008. Some 500 people blocked the main highway leading from the northern city of Tripoli to Syria today following a bomb attack that killed a senior intelligence officer from the area, an AFP correspondent witnessed. Most of the protesters were from Deir Ammar, the native village of Eid, who was among at least 10 people killed in the bomb blast in a Christian suburb of Beirut. AFP PHOTO/STR
