JORDAN-PALESTINIAN-HABASH-FUNERAL
From L to R: Fatah leader Faruq Qaddumi, the head of the Damascus-based Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) Nayef Hawatmeh, Leila Khaled, the 1969 Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) aircraft hijacker, and Hilda, the widow of PFLP's founder George Habash, mourn over the latter's coffin during his funeral in the Jordanian capital Amman, 28 January 2008. Habash, founder of the radical anti-Israeli Palestinian group that pioneered plane hijackings in the 1970s, died at the age of 82 on January 26 after being hospitalised 10 days ago with heart problems. He had been living in Jordan, the homeland of his wife, after an illness forced his retirement from political life. AFP PHOTO / AWAD AWAD
