(FILES) -- Cyprus presidential candidate and leader of communist party AKEL, the island's largest party, talks to journalists at an interview in his party headquarters in Nicosia, on May 9, 2007. The February 17 presidential election in Cyprus is too close to call, the final opinion polls allowed before the vote suggested on February 10, 2008, with the gap between the three main candidates within the polls' margin of error. A poll in the mass-circulation Phileleftheros newspaper found that just 2.7 percentage points separated incumbent President Tassos Papadopoulos and his rivals communist leader Demetris Christofias and right-winger Ioannis Kasoulides.
