GREECE-UN-MACEDONIA

Greece and Macedonia will examine a new proposal on resolving a 14-year dispute over the latter's official name, a senior United Nations mediator said Tuesday. But Greece refuses to recognise the tiny state as Macedonian Republic as the name is the same as its northern province of Macedonia, and it has threatened to block Skopje's bid to join NATO and the European Union.
