French president Nicolas Sarkozy has appointed Alain de Pouzilhac to prepare the creation of "France Monde", a holding company aimed at regrouping the government's stakes in RFI radio station and television channels TV5-Monde and France 24. "Mr Alain de Pouzilhac is expected to chair this new organisation, which will be in charge of modernising and dynamising French and French-speaking international public broadcasting", read a statement from President Sarkozy's office on February 20, 2008.
