RWANDA-GENOCIDE-10YEARS-COMMEMORATION
South African President Thabo Mbeki (L) and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni (R) hold roses 07 April 2004 before laying them on the graves at the Memorial Genocide site of Gisozi, during the 94 Genocide 10th anniversary commemoration. Sombre ceremonies were held in Rwanda today to mark the 10th anniversary of the genocide when in just 100 days up to a million people were slaughtered in an savage outpouring of ethnic hatred. The highlight of the painful commemoration of events began at noon in Kigali-s packed national stadium, with a rendition of the national anthem, followed by three minutes of silence and prayers.
