BELGIUM-EU-EURO-DESIGN
A promotion paper pictured on February 6, 2008 at the EU headquarters in Brussels shows the design that was chosen on February 25, 2008 by EU citizens for the special two-euro coins that will be issued to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the launch of the common European currency, with a golden prize to lure entries. Five designs had been pre-selected for the competition with a set of gold coins worth "several thousand euros (dollars)," to be awarded to the lucky winner whose will be picked at random from those who choose the most popular design, a European Commission spokeswoman said.
