KENYA-POLITICS-UNREST-ANAN
Chief mediator and former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan addresses the media after suspending negotiations in Nairobi February 26, 2008. Annan put on hold Kenya's crisis talks to consult Kenya's President Mwai Kibaki and opposition leader Raila Odinga, citing lack of progress in seeking an end to the country's political crisis. More than 1,500 people died and hundreds of thousands displaced in the weeks of violence that followed Kibaki's being sworn in for a second term in office. AFP PHOTO/SIMON MAINA.
