ARMENIA-VOTE-PROTEST-EMERGENCY
Supporters of Armenian opposition presidential candidate Levon Ter-Petrosian clear the way of a fire-truck during their rally on March 01, 2008 in Yerevan. Protesters and riot police clashed today in Yerevan with demonstrators throwing Molotov cocktails and stones and police firing tear gas and automatic weapons into the air, an AFP reporter saw. Authorities declared a state of emergency which will be in effect from March 01 until March 20 under a decree signed by President Robert Kocharian, the presidential administration said.
