GERMANY-ECONOMY-STRIKE
A tramway of Hanover's public transportation service stands in a depot early March 4, 2008 in Hanover, central Germany. Many parts of Germany were hit by public sector strikes that affected transportation, administrations and waste collection. Most German states were affected by a call from the Verdi trade union, which is holding talks with federal and municipal officials on behalf of 1.3 million civil servants.
