GERMANY-ECONOMY-STRIKE
Demonstrators take part in a rally of the German civil servant's union Ver.di and the tariff union of Germany's civil servant's association Deutscher Beamtenbund (DBB) on March 4, 2008 at the opera square in Hanover, central Germany. Many parts of Germany were hit by public sector strikes that affected transportation, administrations and waste collection. Most German states were affected by a call from the Verdi trade union, which is holding talks with federal and municipal officials on behalf of 1.3 million civil servants.
