COLOMBIA-VENEZUELA-FARC-GOMEZ

Joaquin Gomez would be the guerrilla commander who is being treated at La Colonia medical clinic in the town of Rubio, in the Venezuelan border state of Tachira, on March 11, 2008, where a wounded alleged FARC top commander arrived, a Venezuelan military authority has confirmed. Local media has reported extraordinarily that the man in question would be "commander Joaquin Gomez", who has recently been named to replace Raul Reyes in the FARC leadership -- which comprises seven members.
