IRAQ-US-UNREST
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY PATRICK BAZ: A woman holds a picture of Shiite Imam Hussein decorated with pictures of her lost sons, as a US military convoy escorting head of the Diyala province police directorate, Iraqi General Abbas Ghanem, leave the town of Barwanah al-Saghira March 04, 2008. Former head of Saddam Hussein's 37th army division, the two-star general now leads the war-ravaged region's police force in the tinderbox Diyala province. Tiny though it is, Barwanah has been split in two by religious loyalties, with Great Barwanah's (al-Kabira) Sunni majority at loggerheads with the Shiite population of Little Barwanah (al-Saghira), who drape their territory with black, green and red flags.
