GUATEMALA-BELGIUM-KIDNAP
A Guatemalan policeman walks past some members of the Mayan community of Lagunilla El Salvador in Rio Dulce, some 250 km northeast of Guatemala City on March 15, 2008. Some 400 police and soldiers were searching northeast Guatemala Saturday for the kidnappers of four Belgian tourists and two Guatemalans. Vice-president Rafael Espada offered to hold talks with the kidnappers, a peasant group calling themselves "Encuentro Campesino" ("Rural Encounter") and demanding the release from jail of one of their leaders, Ramiro Choc. The six were seized on Friday while on a trip on the Dulce River about 250 kilometers northeast of the capital. AFP PHOTO/Eitan ABRAMOVICH
