View of "Wheke" on March 25, 2008, the giant calamari on show at Paris Natural history museum, after being for the first time plastinated, a process to deshydrate the animal, emptying it from all liquids to be replaced by a special plastic resin. The "Architeuthis sanctipauli" calamari fished on January 27, 2000 off new Zealand was given by the NIWA (National Institute of Water and Atmospheric research Limited) of New Zealand.
