The lawyer of Jeanne-Marie Desramaut's family Didier Seban arrives for the first day of the trial of self-confessed French serial killer Michel Fourniret, a 65-year-old carpenter arrested in 2003 after an attempt to kidnap a 13-year-old girl, on March 27, 2008 at Charleville-Mezieres courthouse, in the French Ardennes region bordering Belgium (northern France). Fourniret is tried during two months for the murder of seven young women, aged between 12 and 22 in France and Belgium between 1987 and 2001, along with his his wife and alleged accomplice Monique Olivier, 58, separately charged with complicity in the kidnappings and murders. Jeanne-Marie Desramault, a 22-year-old law student, was kidnapped on March 18, 1989 outside the train station in Charleville-Mezieres, northeastern France. In July 2004, Fourniret led investigators to her body, in the grounds of a chateau he once owned in the town of Donchery. Fourniret has confessed to her murder. AFP PHOTO FRANCOIS NASCIMBENI
