A Japanese reporter watches a TV news broadcast in Tokyo, 15 April 2004, reporting the release of three Japanese civilians taken hostage in Iraq a week ago. A hostage crisis hanging over Japan for a week ended in relief and tears of joy as the country recieved the news the three had been released unharmed in Baghdad earlier in the day. Two Japanese shown on the TV are: aid workers, Nahoko Takato, 34, left, and Noriaki Imai, 18. Another hostage freed is freelance journalist Soichiro Koriyama, 32. POOL/AFP PHOTO/ITSUO INOUYE
