PANAMA-BIRDS-HARPY EAGLE-ENDANGERED
A trainer feeds Luigi, an adult male Harpy eagle born and raised in captivity, at the National Association for the Conservation of Nature (ANCON), some 18 km southeast of Panama City, on April 13, 2008. The Harpy eagle, Panama's national bird, is an endangered species due mainly to poaching and to the destruction of the rainforests in Central and South America it inhabits. AFP PHOTO/Elmer MARTINEZ
