FRANCE-BELGIUM-BRITAIN-TRIAL-FOURNIRET
Paul Lombard (L), lawyer of Elisabeth Brichet's family, answers journalists' questions as he arrives at Charleville-Mezieres courthouse, northern France, on April 14, 2008, to attend the trial of French self-confessed serial killer Michel Fourniret. Fourniret, a 65-year-old carpenter arrested in 2003 after an attempt to kidnap a 13-year-old girl, is tried during two months for the murder of seven young women, aged between 12 and 22 in France and Belgium between 1987 and 2001, along with his wife and alleged accomplice Monique Olivier, 58, separately charged with complicity in the kidnappings and murders. Elisabeth Brichet, a 12-year-old schoolgirl, was kidnapped on her way home from a friend's house in the Belgian town of Namur, on December 20, 1989. AFP PHOTO FRANCOIS NASCIMBENI
