FRANCE-JUSTICE-CORSICA-TALAMONI
Jean-Guy Talamoni (2nd R), a lawyer who heads the Unione Naziunale party in Corsica-s regional assembly is welcomed by his wife Francesca (R), daughter Serena (C), his brother (L-firstname unknown), and nationalist militants, 18 April 2004 upon arrival at Bastia airport in Corsica. French judge Philippe Courroye put Talamoni under criminal investigation 18 April for allegedly using extortion to further his party-s separatist aims, one day after a demonstration by his supporters caused arrests and injuries. The Corsican leader, was notified of the decision -- which is one step short of charges being laid -- while being quizzed in Paris three days after his arrest at home in Corsica. AFP PHOTO
