US-STARBUCKS-LOGO
The new Starbucks logo is pictured on a coffee cup May 16, 2008 in Washington, DC. A Christian group based in San Diego, California calling itself The Resistance says in a press release the new image has a naked woman on it with her legs "spead like a prositiute... and the company might as well call themselves Slutbucks," is calling for a national boycott of the coffee-selling giant. The logo, similar to one the coffee chain used during its early days in the 1970s -- and which Starbucks maintains is not inappropriate -- is based on a 16th century Norse woodcut of a two-tailed mermaid.
