Israeli soldiers patrol after closing the Hawara checkpoint near the West Bank city of Nablus on May 19, 2008. Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian man at a roadblock in the occupied West Bank today on suspicions that he was carrying a bomb, military sources said. The man approached a checkpoint near Nablus in a "suspicious way" which caused the soldiers to believe he was armed with explosives, one source said.
