(FILE) Colombian (then) President Andres Pastrana (L) and the top commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), Pedro Antonio Marin, better known as "Manuel Marulanda" or "Tirofijo", speak on February 9, 2001, in Los Pozos, Colombia, after signing a joint statement to revive the peace process and resume talks. The Colombian Defense Minister announced in an official statement on May 24, 2008 in Bogota that 'Manuel Marulanda' was dead.
