KENYA-WHO-HEALTH-SMOKE-NO-TOBACCO-DAY
This photo taken May 27, 2008 shows a the shadow of Kenyan man smoking and an ashtray full of cigarette butts at a designated smoking zone in Nairobi. Smoking zones became effective in Nairobi following the passing of the Tobacco Control Bill by Parliament in 2007 to proect non-smokers from the harmfull effects of second-hand cigarette smoke, a move seemingly supported by the World Health Organisation (WHO). The WHO also called for a total ban on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship to protect especially younger people, on May 30, the eve of the World No-Tobacco Day. AFP PHOTO/TONY KARUMBA
