IRAQ-UNREST-KHILANI-MOSQUE
The different views of the Khilani Mosque in the Sinak commercial district of central Baghdad taken prior and after a huge truck bomb detonated outside from left to right on: 12 May 2006, 20 June 2007, and the repairs today on June 8, 2008. On June 19, 2007 a truck bomb parked outside exploded killing 40 people. The Shiite Muslim scholars association is funding the rebuilding of this Shiite Muslim mosque which was built in honor of one of Shiism’s revered four ‘earthly’ deputies anointed by the so called ‘hidden Imam’ Mohammed al-Mahdi who disappeared in the 9th century.
