US-NATURE-ENVIRONMENT-HURRICANE
WITH AFP STORY: US-NATURE-ENVIRONMENT-HURRICANE by Juan Castro Olivera
This undated University of Miami handout image shows a diver writing down observations of marine species in the Dry Tortugas National Park in Florida. Devastated by the passage of six hurricanes in 2004 and 2005 the Dry Tortugas, one of the largest marine sanctuaries in the US, seem to be slowly returning to its original state. The Dry Tortugas National Park, is a cluster of seven islands, composed of coral reefs and sand, along with the surrounding shoals and waters almost 70 miles (112.9 km) west of Key West, Florida.
