BRAZIL-LULA DA SILVA-CABINET-VARIG
Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (C) and his cabinet attend a ministerial meeting at Planalto Palace, on June 9, 2008, in Brasilia. Lula da Silva's government is facing accusations of having favoured acquaintances in the Varig airlines negotiations. The former director of Brazil's National Agency of Civil Aviation (ANAC) Denise Abreu accused the Chief of Cabinet Dilma Rousseff of facilitating the buying of assets to Volo group and affirmed the negotiations were carried out by lawyer Roberto Teixeira --a close friend of Lula Da Silva-- who is under suspicion of influnece peddling.
