OLY-2008-BEACH VOLLEY-FILES
TO GO WITH Oly-2008-BeachVolley by David James
(FILES) This file photo taken on July 29, 2007 shows Phil Dalhausser (L-facing) of the US at the net against Russia's Dmitri Barsouk (R) during their men's final game between the USA and Russia at the Beach Volleyball World Championships in Gstaad, Switzerland. The US and Brazil, two nations blessed with more sand and sun than most, will resume their battle for beach volleyball domination in the Beijing Olympic Games in August, 2008 after virtually monopolising gold in previous editions. Since the television-friendly sport made its Games bow in Atlanta in 1996, the US has won the men's event twice with Brazil taking gold in Athens in 2004. Ricardo Santos and Emanuel Rego of Brazil won the men's gold for Brazil in 2004, but this time round the Americans believe that their teaming of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers can restore the country to the top.
