Several old-fashioned gas lamps light up Michalska street 21 November 2003 near the Old Town Square in the heart of the Prague-s Old Town. Because many consider old-fashioned gas lighting to be much romantic, the municipality of Prague decided to bring back gas lamps to some parts of the Old Town to recreate the atmosphere of the historic area of the Czech capital. The Czech Republic is one of 10 countries set to join the EU 01 May, along with Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta Poland and Slovakia. AFP PHOTO/MAFA-PETR NOVOTNY
