Palestinian and Israeli peace activists flee through a cloud of tear gas fired by Israeli troops during a protest in the West Bank village of Bilin, near Ramallah, on July 4, 2008. Palestinian, Israeli, and international activists have held weekly protests for more than two years in Bilin against the Israel's construction of a separation wall in the area. In 2004 the International Court of Justice issued a non-binding ruling declaring parts of the barrier illegal because they were built inside the occupied West Bank, but Israel has pressed ahead with its construction.
