Newly appointed ministers of the new government of Serbia read their oaths at the parliament session on July 7, 2008 in Belgrade. President Boris Tadic has appointed outgoing Finance Minister Mirko Cvetkovic to lead the new administration, whose formation ends five months of political deadlock triggered by Kosovo's declaration of independence from Serbia. Serbia's parliament met on July 7 to vote in a new Western-leaning government -- the product of an unlikely union between pro-Europeans and the Socialists of late strongman Slobodan Milosevic.
