MIDEAST-PALESTINIAN-ISRAEL-BARRIER
A general view of the West Bank Jewish settlement of Hashmonaim, next to olive trees, belong to Palestinian residents of the nearby village of Nilin, on July 13, 2008. In the last two months Palestinians, Israeli left wing activists and international supporters protest against the construction of Israel's controversial separation barrier in this area. Israel says the barrier, which would eventually reach 650 kms (400 mile), aims at stopping "terror" attacks, while Palestinians call it "the apartheid wall" as it prevents them from reaching their olive trees and beeing constructed in order to widen the settlement itself.
