MIDEAST-ISRAEL-LEBANON-HEZBOLLAH-PRISONER–SWAP-BORDER
An Israeli soldier closes the gate of Rosh Hanikra border crossing between Israel and southern Lebanon in northern Israel, on July 15, 2008. Israel's cabinet gave the final go-ahead today for a prisoner swap with Hezbollah, despite Prime Minister Ehud Olmert saying the Lebanese Shiite group did not fully keep its side of the bargain. That set the ball rolling for the release tomorrow of five Lebanese prisoners, including the perpetrator of a brutal 1979 triple murder, in exchange for two soldiers captured by Hezbollah in deadly 2006 raid.
