GERMANY-AUTO-PARTS-TAKEOVER-COMPANY-CONTINENTAL
Manfred Wennemer, chairman of German auto parts group Continental, gives a statement on July 16, 2008 in Hanover, central Germany. Continental rejected an offer by family-owned rival Schaeffler Group for Continental shares valuing the firm at 11.3 billion euros (18 billion dollars). Schaeffler launched its offer for the much larger Continental on Tuesday (July 15, 2008), but said it was not necessarily seeking a majority stake. AFP PHOTO DDP/NIGEL TREBLIN GERMANY OUT
