Martin Lamothe from Canada and other event goers check in with their friends during San Francisco's first Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival held on August 22, 2008 in Golden Gate Park. Inside the CrowdFire pavilion, sponsored by Microsoft, event attendees could upload their photos, video, and text to a new site that made it possible for people not attending to experience the event through the participants' shared photos and media.
