US-HAITI-BAHAMAS-HANNA
This September 3, 2008 NOAA satellite image shows Tropical Strom Ike(L) followed by Tropical Strom Josephine(R). US officials were keeping a close eye on three tropical storms posing potential threats after deadly Hurricane Gustav battered the US Gulf Coast. The third is Tropical Storm Hanna, is currently hovering just east of Ile de la Tortue in Haiti, 130 kilometers (80 miles) southeast of Great Inagua island in the southeastern Bahamas, with maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers (60 miles) per hour, the National Hurricane Center said. The NHC said the storm would pick up speed and probably begin moving to the northwest Wednesday, putting it on a direct track to Nassau Thursday afternoon and then Grand Bahama island.
