Cyclists arepictured before start the 12th stage of the Tour of Spain between Burgos and Suances, on September 11, 2008. Italy's Paolo Bettini of Quick Step team won the stage. Italy's Paolo Bettini of Quick Step Team finished the stage in first place while Italy's Davide Rebellin of Gerolsteiner team finished in second and third-placed was Italian Damiano Cunego of Lampre team. Spaniard Egoi Martinez of Euskaltel retained the race leader's gold jersey after the 186.4 km race between Burgos and Suances which saw title contender Alejandro Valverde lose time in the overall standings.
