FRANCE-ACCIDENT-RIVER-PARIS-SEINE
Rescuers are pictured on the site where a pleasure boat carrying 12 people sank under unclear circumstances in the Seine river in Paris, early on September 14, 2008, causing the death of a man and a boy. Secretary of State for Transport Dominique Bussereau said at the scene the exact causes of the accident remained unclear : the boat might have hit the Archeveque bridge just behing Notre Dame cathedral, or could have collided with a much larger Bateau Mouche, gaudily-lit vessels which carry thousands of tourists up and down the Seine every day.
