SUDAN-SAFRICA-DIPLOMACY
Sudanese President Omar al-Beshir (R) greets his South African counterpart Thabo Mbeki upon his arrival to the airport in Khartoum on September 15, 2008. Mbeki arrived in the Sudanese capital for two days of talks with Beshir on efforts for peace in the war-torn region of Darfur. Mbeki, who was greeted warmly by Beshir at the airport, is due to discuss moves to head off potential charges against the Sudanse leader from the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes and genocide in Darfur.
