Shelter workers photograph a puppy at an animal shelter established to care for abandoned and stray animals on September 17, 2008 following Hurricane Ike in Galveston, Texas. All of the animals arriving at the shelter are photographed to help with locating their owners. Most of the island remains without running water, electricity or gas since the hurricane hit in the early morning hours of September 17.
