US-SPACE-SHUTTLE-ATLANTIS-DISCOVERY
Space shuttle Atlantis stands on pad 39A (L) and space shuttle Endeavour stands on pad 39B September 20, 2008 as Atlantis is prepared for launch at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Atlantis is scheduled for an October 10, 2008 launch to service the Hubble Space Telescope. Discovery has been rolled out in case Atlantis suffers serious damage and her crew needs rescue. NASA estimates that in a wort-case scenario astronauts could stay alive in the shuttle for 25 days. The International Space Station is not a recue option because it is too far away from the telescope. (Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images) AFP = FOR NEWSPAPER, INTERNET, TELCOS AND TELEVISION USE ONLY =
