SWEDEN-ALTERNATIVE-NOBEL
Handout picture released on October 1, 2008 by the Right Livelihood Foundation shows India's Krishnammal who with her husband Sankaralingam Jagannathan were awarded in Stockholm on October 1, 2008 the Right Livelihood Prize for justice, truth and peace-building, often dubbed the "alternative Nobel." Krishnammal and Jagannathan founded in 1981 Land for Tillers’ Freedom (LAFTI), a non-profit organization based out of India that is focused on changing the conditions the poor.
