SURFING-ESP-ASP-SLATER
This handout picture shows Kelly Slater of the US showing the number nine on his hands, after clinching an unprecedented ninth Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) world title, accomplished at the Billabong Pro Mundaka in Spain on October 3, 2008. Slater defeated event wildcard Eneko Acero of Spain, and needed only to advance through the third round of competition to eliminate his closest rival Taj Burrow of Australia from the title race.
