PHILIPPINES-MIGRANTS-REMITTANCE-PROTEST
A Filipino migrants attach placards saying "Zero Remittance Day"to barbed wire barricades during a protest rally against forced migration and systematic exploitation of cheap labor on October 19 2008 on the street leading to the Malacanang presidential palace. The International Migrants Alliance (IMA) declared October 29 as Zero Remittance Day to coincide with the opening of the Global Forum on Migration and development (GFMD) whom the protesters alleged to have a sole objective to consolidate and legitimize attacks on migrants rights and welfare.
