The new commander of US forces in the Middle East and Central Asia, General David Petraeus (R) arrives for a meeting at the Prime Minister's House in Islamabad on November 3, 2008. Pakistan voiced fears that further US missile strikes inside its territory could spark a violent backlash and severely hamper efforts to curb extremism.
