Indian Hindu devotees offer prayers on the beach during the Chhath festival in Mumbai on November 4, 2008. The Chhath festival, also known as Surya Pooja (worshipping of the sun) is observed in various parts of India, where homage is paid to the sun and water gods eight days after Diwali, the festival of lights.
