US-CTGAYMARRIAGES
WEST HARTFORD, CT - NOVEMBER 12: Jody Mock (L) and Beth Kerrigan (R), accompanied by their adopted twin sons, Fernando Kerrigan-Mock and Carlos Kerrigan-Mock, 7, take questions from the media at West Hartford Town Hall after receiving their marriage license November 12, 2008 in West Hartford, Connecticut. Clerk's offices across Connecticut issued marriage licenses to same-sex couples for the first time today. The couple were the lead plaintiffs in the Connecticut Supreme Court case which ruled 4-3 on October 10 that same-sex couples have the right to wed rather than accept a civil union. According to the state public health department, 2,032 civil union licenses have been issued in Connecticut between October 2005 and July 2008. Connecticut now joins Massachusetts as the only states that have legalized gay marriages. Christopher Capozziello/Getty Images/AFP
