CHINA-ECONOMY-TRANSPORT

A man walks along train tracks leading out of a railway station in Tianjin northern China on November 18, 2008. China's announcement earlier this month of a spending package worth four trillion yuan aimed at lifting growth is expected to result in spending on large infrastructure projects such as railway transport, the most common mode of long distance transport in China. Tianjin, on the coast east of Beijing, is now linked to the capital in only 30 minutes on the bullet train, which can hit a speed of 300 kilometres per hour. AFP PHOTO/Frederic J. BROWN
