NETHERLANDS-DRUGS-CANNABIS-TOURISM
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY ALIX RIJCKAERT
Coffee shop bouncer Bryan (L) stands outside the shop 'Liberty two' on November on November 19, 2008 in Rosendaal, Brabant. The Dutch approach of tolerance on soft drugs is the centre of a heated debate in The Netherlands on 21 November 2008, opposing those who want to close the cannabis-selling coffee-shops and the supporters of a state regulation of hemp production. In 1976, the Netherlands decriminalised the consumption of cannabis, and the possession of less than five grams. Its cultivation and wholesale remains prohibited.
